Fredericksburg Castle was absolutely beautiful. I got some great pics on my nice camera but here are a few I took from my phone. I truly felt like I was in a fairy tale castle.

Churches, hippies, and canals.
Today we did some more wandering and walking. We went to Christiania, one of the world's most famous alternative communities. It was....interesting. :) Lots of hippies and lots of interesting smells.
We also visited Vor Frelserskirke. (Our Saviors Church). It was built in the late 1600's. This was the church that inspired the little mermaid castle in the Disney movie.
We then visited Vor Frue Kirke (Church of Our Lady). This church was where the Crowned Prince was married!
We also did the Canal tour and enjoyed the view from the canals!
Now we are back in the hotel and are pooped!
Tomorrow is more castle tours!

Rosenborg Castle and Tivoli
Today we started off the day with a coffee and croissants. We then headed to Rosenborg Castle to wander around and see the Queen's jewels. The castle was beautiful and everything was SO OLD!
Wish I had these jewels running in my family! ;)
We also got to take a peek at the thrones of the King (1665) and Queen (1731). They were guarded by three silver lions from 1670.
We then went back to Stroget street for some more shopping! We ate lunch at a great Danish restaurant and had some of the best open faced sandwiches in Copenhagen! (Smorrebrod)
Then back to more wandering and shopping! We took a break in an Irish pub for some Irish coffee :)
After that we headed to Tivoli! It is the amusement park in Copenhagen and is currently decorated with Halloween zombies and pumpkins!
Oh yeah...and got to meet Hans Christian Anderson! ;)
It was a little chilly today so we decided to do the canal tour tomorrow. We will also be stopping by another palace and Christiania! The hippie community! Ha!

Nyhavn (and mom's birthday)
We started off the day with mom opening her birthday cards from her friends while eating breakfast. She LOVED reading them. Perfect start to her day.
Then we left the Bella Sky Hotel and moved to our hotel in Nyhavn. (Nyhavn 71) Our room is adorable! This hotel is very old and used to be a spice warehouse until 1971. Our room overlooks the Nyhavn canal.
The street of Nyhavn is beautiful. It looks like doll houses all put together!
Today we did some sightseeing and saw the little mermaid statue. I told Ella I was going to go see our favorite Disney princess but she turns into a statue when you take her picture. :)
We also got to see the changing of the guards at the Queen's palace. The prince and princess were there and we actually got to see the princess riding her bike back from picking up her kid from school. Very neat!
We ended the night with a birthday dinner on me. We went to a Danish restaurant (Geist). I had veal and mom had cod. We both had "bubbles" for drink! (We passed on the lamb's heart and the suckling pig) Tomorrow is a canal tour and Tivoli!

Yummy....this happened.
I may or may not have spent a lot of money at this place buying goodies.
This is the bakery I found online. Apparently it is well known and quite popular. It was established in 1870 and the inside is GORGEOUS!
I bought several samples to bring back to mom to have a taste testing. I bought Kringle, a Sarah Bernhardt (a truffle the size of my hand), and a Kartoffelkage (a creamy chocolatey cake covered in marzipan and cocoa). So good!
The smells coming from this place were amazing. I think I'm going to take mom there so she can see it too. Then we can sample some more! :)
Wandering
Today was he last day of the conference so I still had a free day to wander the city :)
I decided to get a day pass for the Metro and head to Norreport (area of Copenhagen)
I wandered the streets that were made of cobblestone and did some more shopping and quality people watching while enjoying my coffee. I even got to watch a man get arrested in the streets! Ha!
I picked Norreport because it had one of the oldest and the top rated bakery in Copenhagen. :) I'll post pictures of that in a separate post.
People still continue to talk to me in Danish because I look the part. :) I still have yet to have someone to speak to me in English first.
Tomorrow is the official start of Mom's vacation! (Aaaaand her birthday) :)
I'll be taking her out for a dinner somewhere downtown!
Oh...and here is what the hotel looks like in the daytime.
